The Omo is renowned for its indigenous peoples and whilst I have been many times it is always nice to return and each visit brings new sights and images. The tribes are being subjected to change as a result of better road networks, deliberate acculturation, the Gibe III dam impacting on the discharge of the river, the sale of cheap Chinese clothing in market places, the inexorable spread of Christianity to people who for millennia have been animist and of course tourism.
