Rural, rustic Romania. A country with the beauty of mountainous landscapes, UNESCO World heritage site Saxon villages and agricultural practices which are reminiscent of the rest of Europe a few decades ago. The people are friendly and very hospitable. Romania is forested and has some of the largest populations of lynx, bear and wolf found anywhere in Europe. Maramures, Viscri, Sibiu and Sighi Soara whould be on anyone's travel itinerary. It is, perhaps, the hidden gem of Europe!
